Poetry Walk
The Poetry Walk is a collaboration between the Burnham Memorial Library and Niquette Bay State Park.
Mission: A Walk with Words
Promoting literacy, learning, and a deeper appreciation of the natural world with a connection to the place we call home. The transformative virtues of nature and poetry have long been known to humankind. Fostering a deeper appreciation of the natural world while uniting us to our humanity, these poems have been uniquely chosen for each site along the trail. Selected works will change throughout the season.
About the Park
About the Park
Management strategies at Niquette Bay work to support the vision of the park as an oasis for appreciating nature. The park’s 584 acres feature 6-1/2 miles of well-maintained hiking trails and 4700 feet of scenic rocky and sandy shore on the north side of Malletts Bay. Trails weave through diverse natural communities, over a sandy plain, and along limestone ridges with impressive vistas of Lake Champlain, the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks.
The park is open year-round for the public’s use and enjoyment with a modest entry fee from early May until Indigenous Peoples' Day in October.
