Bellows Falls 

Incorporated in 1909, the Village was named for Colonel Benjamin Bellows.

A Post Office was established in 1801, the same year as Rockingham's, though when it burned in 1908 it was never rebuilt. The business community grew up around the river, with the advent of waterpower and the railroad.

Rockingham 

The Town was chartered in 1753, the historic village was built around the Rockingham Meeting House located in the geographic center. The Rockingham Post Office was established in 1801The village of Rockingham was the most populous region of Town, until the fire of 1908.

Saxtons River 

Settled in 1783, boundaries were set by the Town of Rockingham in 1820 and officially incorporated in 1905.

The Saxtons River Cemetery was established in 1810

By 1828, Saxtons River had a post office, mills, tannery, tavern and 45 homes.

Vermont Academy founded in 1876 was founded by the Vermont Baptist Convention is a private school with 250 students.
