NIXLE is now Everbridge. Everbridge is a global community engagement platform which acquired Nixle some years ago. The Town is in-process of migrating over to the enhanced Everbridge platform which provides better services for our Town.
The purpose of using Everbridge for the Town is for a community information service that allows subscribers to receive information from the Town that may be impactful to you.
All Town agencies can message recipients that have registered accounts in Everbridge but the platform is hosted by Milford Fire/Emergency Management.
- Everbridge is free to recipients (absent of any SMS message costs from your carrier)
- There is no spam
- You control how you receive messages – SMS and/or email and/or mobile app and/or voice call
- SMS messages will come from the sender - 88911
- Phone calls will come from our main number - 603-249-0600
Important information for you:
- We need you to use the Membership Form below and create a NEW Everbridge notification account.
- We have carried over ALL prior Nixle numbers and emails into Everbridge but cannot create an account for you.
- We will routinely ‘scrub’ Nixle accounts as we see them duplicate but you will not get duplicate notifications.
- Put as much information that you wish to share with us in the account. The more data – especially address information – will help us start to use location specific messaging.
- There is a new mobile app called Public Safety by Everbridge. It is available from the Apple Store for iPhone users and Google Play store for Android users.
You may email specific questions/concerns to alerts@milford.nh.gov (note that we’re part-time, expect delays in responding)

Weather Alerting Information
It is NOT expected that routine weather alerts will be sent by the Town. There may be certain occasions that the Town may act and send out alerts that are very specific to our area and known in advance. Generally, weather alerting is already available through many real-time sources such as TV and radio media as well as from the National Weather Service (NWS) directly.
Under very urgent conditions, the State of NH Homeland Security and Emergency Management may send out alerts over the cellular systems. There is no subscription necessary, but these are optional and must be enabled on your mobile phone to receive them. Look in your phone settings for Government Alerts or similar.
If you are interested, the NWS NOAA Weather Radio system is operated 24 hours-a-day and will send out immediate alerts as warnings to the area. Inexpensive specialized radios are available for purchase through many sources. There is more information available from the NWS here, make sure to read the FAQ on that page as well.
