Town Clerk
content
The Town Clerk's Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Town Hall.
In special circumstances, the Town Clerk will travel to a resident’s house to provide services. We give priority to populations who are at-risk and need services.
Official Records
The Clerk is responsible for the safekeeping of the official records of the Town and for providing the records to the public in accordance with State Statute. Visit the Clerk’s office for copies of deeds, minutes of meetings, ordinances, rules and regulations, policies, birth & death certificates, etc. Land Records are also available online. Scroll down to Vermont, then to Rockingham Town Clerk. There is no charge to view files, $2 per page to print.
The Clerk works with the Board of Civil Authority on elections and is responsible for the orderly operation of elections in the Town, preparing ballots, holding elections, and counting the votes. Get an absentee and sample ballots at the Clerk’s office as well as a sample ballot. All Vermont Towns have same day registration.
